I’m Janey, founder of jhg design co. I’ve had a long career in fashion, travel, food and interior design, as well as promotion design and brand development, before founding my consultancy in 2022.

I’m a small-town girl from the Buckeye State who made her way to the hottest fashion advertising and PR firm in New York City followed by Condé Nast Publications and a stint at Martha Stewart Living magazine before coming back home to Ohio. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with and among a wide range of personalities and design influences including, Paul Cavaco, Keeza Keeble, Steven Meisel, and some of Columbus’ top-ranked interior designers.

I say this because my interior design philosophy and process was influenced by these individuals and informed by my experiences. As a result, I’ve come to a belief that interior design is both different and more than what some of us think. For me, design is as personal and fluid as it is functional and aesthetic.  

I am not a “decorator,” at least in the traditional sense. You could say I’m more of a “home therapist,” helping my clients discover the essence of what they want from their home spaces and, of course, helping them achieve it.

We all aspire for our home to be where we live our most authentic selves. To be a place of comfort. To be a reflection of who we are and what we are passionate about.
